FEATURES
This small vase pairs a solid brass base with a glass tube. The base features two different diameters, allowing the tube to stand upright for a symmetrical look, or rest against the base for an asymmetrical expression. A subtle change in placement creates a distinct impression.
The surface of the brass base is intentionally left with a textured finish. No coating is applied, allowing the natural character and ageing of brass to develop over time. Variations in appearance will occur depending on the environment.

Takaoka City, where our products are made, has long been one of Japan’s leading centres for Buddhist ritual craftsmanship. Our company has grown within this tradition for generations.
The brass base is reimagined from a nakago, a component originally used in the making of flower stands for Buddhist altars. Guided by our concept of circularity, we reinterpret materials and processes that had reached the end of their original role, giving them a renewed presence.
