SHIZUKU is a high purity tin cast sake cup manufactured using the casting techniques of Takaoka-shi, a metal craft town with a history of over 400 years. Tin is said to improve water retention and mellow the taste, and has long been used as a food and drink vessel in Japan. This series of drinking vessels has both artistic and practical characteristics.
This series has a unique bottom design, which is inspired by the activity of the drops, shizuku, that create stalactites. It is said that limestone caves form slowly over thousands or tens of thousands of years. Even in today’s fast-paced world, where time is accelerating at a dizzying pace, nature continues to tick away at an everlasting pace. We have incorporated the nature pace into the sake cups in the hope that you will feel yourself in harmony with nature while drinking your sake.
